GHS Seniors Open Juried Art Exhibition

Prospectus

       The Paint Locker Fine Art Gallery is seeking Gridley High School Seniors who are interested in art to submit their latest artwork for a juried exhibition. The theme is open, meaning any and all works will be considered regardless of subject.

Eligability

Must be a current GHS Senior to enter. 

Participation in Art Club or enrollment in Art class is NOT required.

 

Submitting Images 

Submit all images to thepaintlocker@gmail.com or by using Google Chrome (if in Art Class).

Please ensure that your images are jpg format, and no larger than 1200 pixels on the longest side.

Submit images without watermarks. Watermarked images will not be considered.

With your images, include the following information: Medium, size, year finished and price (if for sale).

If your artwork is chosen for the show, it must be ready to hang with wire. No sawtooth hangers, please.

The Paint Locker is a small gallery, unfortunately we cannot accept any 2D art larger than 36x40. 3D art cannot be larger than 6ft tall, and 3ft in diameter. 

You may submit a maximum of 3 pieces for entry into the show. There is no guarantee that one or all pieces will be accepted.

All submissions must be made by November 15, 2018 

 

Fees

There are no fees to enter this show.

 

Juror

The Juror is Aaron Burks. Aaron is an award winning artist as well as the Curator of The Paint Locker Gallery.

He has shown in numerous national exhibitions. He graduated from The University of Tennessee with a BFA in 2015. His website is www.aaronburksfineart.com

First Prize: $50

Second Prize: $25

Third Prize: $25

Exhibition Details

The GHS Senior Open Juried Art Exhibition will open during the Gridley Christmas Parade in order to maximize foot traffic into the Gallery. 

Show Dates: Dec 5th, 2018, Show Opening @ 6pm. The show will run until Monday, Jan 7th, 2019.

All accepted work must be received at the Gallery no later than Friday, November 30, 2018. All work must be picked up no later than 6pm, Friday January 11, 2019. 

​

Sales are encouraged! If your work sells, The Paint Locker Fine Art Gallery will retain a 20% commission.

Important Dates

November 15, 2018: Submissions closed

November 18, 2018: Accepted artists will be notified via the email address used to submit. 

November 30, 2018: All accepted artwork must be received by the Gallery. Artwork not accepted by this date will not be juried. 

December 5th, 2018 6pm: Show Opening and awards announcement!

January 7th, 2019: Show closes

January 11th, 2019: All artwork must be picked up. Any artwork left at the Gallery will be given to Mrs. Braun at GHS.
